Lisa VanGundy's journey as a photographer began at six years old,
when her father put a camera in her hands. She took her first portrait, and her passion was born. In a high school
photography class, she learned the artistic and technical fundamentals of shooting, developing and printing film. Her
passion grew as she travelled and captured images in Mexico, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey and Russia.
Lisa has studied with Professor and Master Photographer, Wesley Bernard, on creative and technical
elements of portraiture and studio lighting. She also participates in a writers' critique group under the guidance
of Professor Jimin Han.
Lisa photographs meetings
and events for the Scarsdale Forum, and has had articles and photos published in the Scarsdale Inquirer and online at Hamlet
Hub and Scarsdale 10583. Her work has also been on display at Scarsdale Village Hall and the Greenburgh Library.
She has photographed flowers (macro), pets, chocolates, paintings, posters, jewelry, furniture and rare antiques.
Relaxed and comfortable with people, Lisa captures the essence of personality
and inner beauty. Her clients enjoy the shoot, and it shows. A writer who appreciates art and literature, she
sees life as art, and photography an extension of this presence and vision.
Her favorite quote is from William Wordsworth, Tintern Abbey: "While with an eye made quiet by
the power of harmony, and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things."
